Terms of use
These terms explain the rules for using the Data4Good website at data4good.co.uk. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Last updated: 4 November 2026
About these terms
These terms cover use of the website only. Volunteers taking part in projects and partners or sponsors working with us agree to separate documents, such as our volunteer handbook and our partnership terms. If there is a conflict between those documents and these terms, the separate document applies to that activity.
Data4Good is a UK social enterprise established in 2025. to be confirmed
Using our website
You may use the site for lawful purposes and in line with these terms. Please do not:
- use the site in a way that is unlawful, harmful, fraudulent or abusive
- submit false, misleading or offensive information, or information about someone else without their permission
- try to gain unauthorised access to the site, our database or any connected systems
- upload or send viruses or other harmful code

- pretend to be another person or organisation
We may suspend or block access if you break these rules.
Waitlist, requests and enquiries
We are currently at capacity for new volunteers, and joining the waitlist is the only way to register interest. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee you a place, and we cannot promise when, or whether, a place will become available. Volunteering is free.
Submitting a charity support request or a partnership enquiry does not create a contract or guarantee that we can help. We will review each one and respond as we are able.
Information on the site about events, including The North-East Varsity Hackathon, The 1st Annual Oxbridge Hackathon and The Great Energy Industry Hackathon, may change. Details are to be confirmed, and registering interest does not reserve a place.
Intellectual property
The site, including its design, text, graphics, logo and code, belongs to Data4Good or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other rights. to be confirmed
You may view the site, and share links to it, for personal and non-commercial use. You may quote short extracts with a clear credit and link back to us. Please do not copy, republish or sell our content otherwise without our written permission.
Any work produced by volunteers on a project is covered by the separate volunteer and project terms. to be confirmed
Information on this site
We try to keep the information on the site accurate and up to date, but it is general information, not professional advice. Statistics quoted from other organisations are credited to their sources, and we do not control or guarantee them. We may change or remove content at any time.
Links to other websites
The site may link to websites run by others. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. A link does not mean we endorse the site. If you would like to link to our site, please do so fairly and legally, and do not suggest we endorse you without our agreement.
Our responsibility to you
We provide the site "as is" and try to keep it running smoothly, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free from errors.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site, or from relying on its content, including indirect or consequential loss. This does not affect your legal rights as a consumer. to be confirmed
Your personal information
How we use personal information is explained in our privacy notice. Our accessibility statement explains how we are working to make the site usable for everyone.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. By continuing to use the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute connected with the site, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, although if you live elsewhere in the UK you may also have the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
