Accessibility statement
Data4Good wants everyone to be able to use our website, whatever their abilities or the technology they use. This statement explains how accessible the site is, what we have done, and how to tell us about any problems.
This statement applies to data4good.co.uk.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA. We build accessibility into the site's design and code from the start, rather than adding it at the end.
What we have done
- Keyboard navigation: all links, buttons and form controls can be used with a keyboard alone, and there is a clear skip link to the main content.
- Screen reader support: pages use landmarks and a logical heading structure, so people using assistive technology can find their way around quickly.
- Visible focus: a clear outline shows which element is selected as you move through the page.
- Reduced motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, we turn off animation and smooth scrolling.
- Colour contrast: text and key interface elements meet at least AA contrast, and often AAA. We do not rely on colour alone to convey meaning.
- Text size and layout: text can be resized up to 200% without losing content or function, and pages reflow to fit a screen as narrow as 320 pixels without sideways scrolling.
- Images: meaningful images have text descriptions (alt text), and purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Forms: every field has a clear label, errors are explained in plain words next to the field, and an error summary appears at the top of the form.
- Works without JavaScript: our core forms can still be submitted if JavaScript is unavailable.
Known limitations
- The animated particle background is decorative. It carries no information and is hidden from assistive technology. It stops when reduced motion is requested.
- We have not yet completed a full independent accessibility audit. to be confirmed
If you find a problem not listed here, please tell us.
Feedback and contact
If you have difficulty using the site, find a barrier, or need information in a different format (for example large print, audio or easy read), please contact us:
- Email: team@data4good.co.uk
Please tell us the web address of the page, what the problem is, and the device or assistive technology you use if you can. We aim to reply within 5 working days. to be confirmed
