Projects
Real questions. Real work.
Every Data4Good project starts with a charity that wants to understand something. Here is what our volunteers are working on, and how we make sure the work is worth having.
What we are working on
These are live briefs from UK charities and non-profits. Volunteers on the waitlist will see new briefs first when places open.
-
A national housing charity
Project in progress. A full case study will be published when the work is complete.
-
A healthcare charity provider
Project in progress. A full case study will be published when the work is complete.
-
A national children’s charity
Project in progress. A full case study will be published when the work is complete.
-
A UK university
Project in progress. A full case study will be published when the work is complete.
Careful from start to finish
-
Scoped properly
We agree a clear question, a realistic timeline and what a useful answer looks like before anyone writes a line of code.
-
Supervised throughout
Every team works under an experienced supervisor who guides the approach, supports the volunteers and keeps the project on track.
-
Checked before it leaves
Findings are reviewed for accuracy and clarity. If we would not trust it, we do not hand it over.
-
Handed over for keeps
The charity receives the results, the working files and a walkthrough. They own it all and can carry on without us.
Practical work that moves a charity forward
Projects are chosen for usefulness, not novelty. Here are the kinds of problems our volunteers help with.
-
Impact reporting dashboards
Turn scattered records into a clear picture of what your work achieves, ready for trustees and funders.
-
Fundraising and donor analytics
Understand who gives, why they stay and where the next appeal could work best.
-
Demand forecasting
Plan staffing and services around what is likely to happen next, not what happened last year.
-
Data cleaning and CRM health
Tidy duplicate records, fix gaps and make your systems something your team can actually trust.
-
Survey and feedback analysis
Find the themes in free-text responses and the signals in the numbers, so people are heard.
-
Mapping need with geographic data
See where help is needed most, and where your services already reach, on a map that makes sense.
Have a question of your own?
If your charity has data and a question, we would like to hear it. Tell us what you want to understand and we will take it from there.
